Critique on an article from Texas Insider

I recently found an article on the Texas insider website entitled Star Parker: Tea Party is the solution not the problem.  Nothing captures the distortions being perpetrated more than the above headline by Ms. Star Parker: “Tea Party is the solution, not the problem”
How can and one in the right mind make such a fallacious statement when the facts are contrary to that opinion? Parker’s commentary reminds of an old African adage that says “when a woman cooks a soup that is distasteful to everyone, she claims she cooks it to sooth her own taste”

Star Parker went on to cite several opinion polls, studies, and commentaries that satisfies her claim that the current impasse in congress is no fault of her tea party minority group
The fact remains that Star Parker is a Republican political activist, a politician in her own right, but pretends in her write-up as if she is just an average Joe expressing her opinion.
Stars failed to understand that the minority congress men that call themselves ‘tea Party” cannot hold the will of the American people ransom for their ideologue. The so called Tea Part is not even a legally registered political party, but bunch of ideologues that are bent on destroying the huge gains that the Obama Administration has man in the last 6years in office. Where, where these people when their former Republican president fought two wars without allocating any funds in the budget to pay for either?

It is no wonder they lost the last presidential election because they refused to be truthful to the American people as what policies or programs they will implement once elected. President Obama unlike his opponent Mitt Romney, A quasi-Tea party candidate refuse to tell the American people the truth about he  would balance the budget or what programs he would purse as president, and guess what the American people saw through their lies and rejected them.  The Tea party crowd and their Republican sympathizers went before the most conservative supreme court of our time to seek redress according to them to kill the Obama care but were soundly defeated. Now the same people are trying to hold the entire country hostage and through “extortion” in the words of President Obama to extract from the American People what they could not get through a general election.
Assuming for a moment that Ms. Star was right in her poll that majority of American do not support the Obamacare, the same majority of American would have supported her Republican Congress who are trying to save them for the impending obamacare doom, but the facts do not add up.
The fact remain that congress has only 9% support of the American people; the lowest ever in the history of this congress.
The give and take approach to governance between the Democrats and the Republicans that once existed has been completely eroded by these new Tea party Ideologues.
These ideologues would not even allow for a floor vote on the congress floor; up or down.

Another step to make the voter ID suit a moot issue: Star Telegram Editorial

http://www.star-telegram.com/2013/09/25/5194209/another-step-to-make-the-voter.html
Here is my own opinion:
If you have lived in Texas long enough, you would have realized that the state government under the governorship of Rick Perry is at war with the federal government on several numbers of issues. As at the last count, the Texas Attorney General has sued the Obama Administration on at least 30 times in the last six and half years losing over 85% of  the times , and costing several millions to the Tax payers of Texas. Our governor act and behaves as if Texas is a federal entity by itself, therefore any power not delegated to her is reserved for the federal government. Well, the governor and his Attorney general must understand that the people of this nation overwhelmingly rejected his Texas brand during the last general election, yet the Governor continues to engage in fruitless efforts to undue the Obama Administration. There is no doubt that Texas has lost millions in federal money due her anti federal government stand.

It is no secret in Texas that everything wrong under this current administration is either to be blamed on immigrant from Mexico and Central America or minority groups. Studies have shown that in the next several years the Hispanic population will surpass any other group in Texas. Every discerning mind knows that the recent voter ID law was intended to disenfranchise minority in Texas. There is no evidence that there is a wide spread voter fraud in Texas.  I agree with the editorial that a newly passed laws that authorizes the  Texas Department of Public Safety, and the  Office of the Secretary of State to set up booths to issue Texans voter ID CARDS is another bad prognosis for the wrong sickness. Can anyone imagine how a fully uniformed law enforcement officer with a hat, baton, and a pistol tucked to his waist to be the one issuing ID card to voters? It sounds like something one reads from a Russian Communist Manifesto. Texas government claims to have better answer for everything done by the federal government yet the result continues to prove otherwise. Not too long ago Texas was under a federal oversight of her prison system, some school funding, redistricting, is  among the worst provider of health care to her citizens, one of the worst in high school graduation rate. The cost of obtaining these voter ID cards would be another financial burden on poor people. What forms of ID cards will be required to be provided in other for one to obtain voter the so called voter ID cards. How has a civil duty of registering one now a law enforcement duty? It is not a secret that minority groups distrust law enforcement establishments. How many poor people who may be scare away by the presence of these DPS ID issuing Officers is another issue to be studied. How can they guarantee the Citizens that these officers will not turn these booths into a traffic offense arresting booths?  Texas legislators are willing to make funds available for these new booths, extend hours of their operating, but are not will to do such for early voting Texas.  The Federal has already sue Texas for this voter ID law, and there is nothing Rick Perry , and his Attorney General can do to avert face off with the Federal Government except to remove this anti minority  voting laws. Women Health issues in Texas and the Anti-abortion Law

          http://www.burntorangereport.com/diary/14078/read-about-two-texas-women-denied-health-care-because-of-the-new-antiabortion-law
Just typical of our government:  The saying that comes to mind is one bad apple spoils the bunch.  To me that’s what abortion is, one bad apple that spoils a bunch.  This clinic in Bryan, TX that provides women’s health care and abortions was shut down just because of the “bad apple”.  It is important that women seek yearly treatments to preserve or correct any abnormalities that go on in our bodies.  We are uniquely and wonderfully made, our bodies and the inner workings are complex.  These anti- abortion groups need to look at the bigger picture before they try to ride in and “save the day”.  You know the government and the anti- abortion groups remind me of the big over- zealous meat head boyfriend who thinks he is doing his girlfriend a favor by thinking she needs rescuing from…humph, shall I say the bad apple in the bunch.  Typical “meat-head govt.” would offer suggestions that are meaningless.  According to anti -abortion group, Pro- life Aggi es suggest that there are plenty other clinics and doctors to help women find other providers.

The fact remains that 97 percent of Planned Parenthood services are non-abortion related services that several women depend on, especially poor women who would otherwise have no other place to obtain such services.  Well, just one problem government meat-head, many weren’t taking new patients or didn’t provide women’s health at all. It is a sad story that men always think they know better what is best for women. No one in the Texas legislature has bothered to ask what is the underlying reason why a woman many want to opt for abortion. No law has been passed lately to compel men who impregnate these women to provide unfettered support to them from the time of conception till the child becomes old enough to provide for him/her.  How about making laws that make it illegal for a man to impregnate any woman other than his legal wife? How many of our male legislatures will go for that?  It is no longer a secret that in 2004, Texas ranked 46th in women’s health (http://www.herplace.com/hormone-info/state-rankings.htm
Nine years later, specifically, the state of Texas received a grade of “F” and had a ranking of 45-of-50 in women health. Women in Texas make 78 cents for every dollar a man makes and has 17th-smallest wage gap in the United States. For Hispanic women, the result is even alarming 45 cents for every dollar a white male makes, and more than 19 percent of women in Texas live in poverty. Compared to a big state such as California with almost same ethnicity makeup, the state of California fared much better.  Read more: http://www.upi.com/Health_News/2013/09/26/Texas-one-of-the-worst-states-for-women-California-one-of-the-best/UPI-82201380175173/#ixzz2gCmenbYm
We cannot risk losing our lives to serious health issues due to the government being short sighted and refusing to see that these clinics provide care to low income women who otherwise could not afford it.  Open your eyes and look at this as a whole and instead of one bad apple that is spoiling the bunch that could ultimately cost a woman her life.
